Simplicity
Less is more – more or less. Simplicity brings clearness into a design and creates iconic and remarkable forms and aesthetics. Proportionality is also important for aesthetics. A razor obviously doesn't really need a carbon fiber case, nor does it need a fake but realistically looking carbon fiber case. However, well executed details can underline both the product quality and value.
Honesty
What you get is, at least, what you see; no fake air scoops or cheap metal painted plastic molds. A cheap plastic mold can have a charm of its own. Honesty increases the users trust and satisfaction with a product.
Efficiency
Optimized constructions, reduced parts and lightweight materials increase usability and durability and therefore user satisfaction.
An ecological product is a logical result of a good design, not necessarily an objective. In terms of sustainability, abdication is no solution. It must be the goal to at least keep the product's performance while increasing its ecological compatibility.
Emotion
Finally, the user experience is probably the design's most important aspect. It's favorable to create a friendship-like relationship between the user and the product, built upon trust, identification, pride and pleasure.
